3-hour performance with Steven Sharpe
"murmur"; Waterside Project Space; London, UK. 2010

The exhibition’s curator, Eliza Tan, writes of murmuring:

...the "low, indistinct and continuous sound which evokes the telling of stories or rumours that conjure powerful mental pictures......Underscoring mechanisms of verbal imagination and visual enactment, linguistic rupture and the dissolution of the image, murmur explores fiction-making as a means by which to critically reorder the data of experience, frameworks of memory and limits of perception."

In silhouette, I draw fibres from the lips of my partner and twist them into thread, while he coaxes croaks from a frog güiro.
